Per Petterson receives rave reviews in the UK
Petterson's novel 'It's Fine by Me' (Det er greit for meg) has received great reviews in The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph and The Scotsman. The novel is translated from the Norwegian by Don Bartlett, and published by Harvill Secker with a translation grant from NORLA.
According to the review in The Scotsman reading one of Petterson's novels is "the literary equivalent of zooming in on Google Earth: every street corner, metro station, factory entrance and apartment block comes in so close, you can see the faces at each window, spot each pothole in the road. It’s not your world; you’ve probably never been there, and yet you get it completely".
