Dutch Translation Prize to Paula Stevens
Paula Stevens is awarded the Dutch translation prize The Amy van Marken-Prize for her complete work as a translator of Norwegian literature from Norwegian into Dutch.
The prize is awarded every two years to a translator of Scandinavian languages, for an outstanding translation of a single work or, as this year, for a translator's oevre of exceptionally high quality. See the amazing picture that proves the extent of Paula Stevens' oevre of translation.

Paula Stevens is awarded the prize for her entire oevre of translation, and she has translated novels by, to name but a few, Per Petterson, Lars Saabye Christensen, Roy Jacobsen, Wassmo, Johan Harstad, Erlend Loe, Øystein Lønn and Ingvar Ambjørnsen. It is the first time the prize is awarded a tranlator's oevre and also it is the first time the prize is awarded a translator from Norwegian.
In 2006, Paula Stevens was appointed Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit for her activities as a translator and for being an excellent ambassador of Norwegian literature in the Netherlands and Belgium.
