NORLA at the Moscow Book Fair

On Thursday, December 1, at 7 p.m., a Norwegian literary evening took place at Artefaq (Bolsjaja Dmitrovka d. 32). The translator, Olga Drobot, interviewed Eirik Newth and Tore Renberg, and a screening of the film adaption of Renberg’s book, 'I Travel Alone,' rounded off the evening.
Between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday, December 2, there was a Norwegian program at the book fair. In addition to presentations of Newth and Renberg’s books, there was a seminar, catered towards librarians and journalists, on Norwegian literature as well as a presentation of a collection of folk tales by Asbjørnsen & Moe, illustrated by Theodor Kittelsen. The book is edited by Jelena Ratsjinskaja and published by Ropol Classics. The abovementioned books have all received translation subsidies from NORLA.
On Friday afternoon, the winners of the drawing contest, 'Life in the Universe,' was announced. More than 200 children from all over Russia had submitted drawings and texts, and the contest was arranged in relation to the release of Eirik Newth’s book.

In addition, there was a number of events for children, meetings with the press, and events, arranged in collaboration with the Russian publishing houses, in bookstores, etc.
